i spent yesterday evening at veronica’s to hang out for a bit. cooked dinner, hung out, and watched some moto racing from misano, italy. about halfway through the race, veronica asked me why do i like to watch racing? ( i figure she was getting bored at this point) and you know what? i couldn’t answer it right away. i had to think about why i love watching these machines being driven around at dangerously high rates of speed, coming within inches of each other. but i figured that i love to watch the battles. to see someone come up behind another racer and set himself up for a pass, and watching the battle that ensues after it is pretty amazing to me. probably why i posted the nurburgring video here, and the dtm video in my last post. i guess that guys like to watch competition, mostly through physical sports like football and basketball. but in racing it’s the same thing. people just say that they are driving around in circles (literally in nascar’s sense) and that it’s boring. but you can say the same thing about basketball. get the ball, run down the court, try to make a basket. rinse, lather, repeat. with racing, there are so many battles that go on for positions, just like how there are different plays or strategys. watching drivers attack at every opportunity they have, making that clean pass, only to get chased down by the person that they just overtook. thats probably why i spent a morning last summer watching full covereage of the tour de france. that was 3 hours of watching guys in tights riding through villages and small towns. it’s all the same, just in a different medium, so i don’t understand why people give me flack for watching racing for 4 hours straight, when people watch basketball all day.
in other news, i haven’t touched my camera in weeks. been so caught up with things that i don’t even think about taking pictures anymore. but i should have some coming up soon. i’d hope. still miss karting, so i think i’ll be doing that sometime soon. hopefully i can do a writeup of that or something.
i also want a bicycle. an orange motobecane messenger really caught my eye, and it’s only $350! yeah, expensive for a bike, but most ss/fixie bikes go for over $700, like the specialized langster, which is a very, very nice bike.
here is the bike that i’m looking at.

thats about it. just lettin ya’ll know im not dead.
moo.
